Mátyás Pincészet produces vibrant wines from the southern region of Slovakia, embracing both tradition and nature, guided by the motto “back to nature.”
Mátyás Pincészet, a family-run winery founded in 2003, is nestled in the charming village of Nová Vieska – Kisújfalu, in the heart of the South Slovak wine-growing region. Spanning over 12 hectares of vineyards, they grow a diverse range of grape varieties including Feteasca regala, Sauvignon blanc, Traminer, Welschriesling, Pinot blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot noir, Blaufränkisch, and Dunaj.
Their vineyards, located on the southwestern slopes of Drieňová hora in Nová Vieska, benefit from a unique location, only 5 kilometers away from the Danube river. This allows for a steady flow of fresh, healthy air throughout the year, which supports the biological protection of plants. The soils of their ropes consist of limestone, sandstone, loess, and brown forest soils. The thin top layer of soil forces the roots to delve deeper into the earth, producing grapes with a unique terroir character.
Mátyás Pincészet is proud to be organically certified and practice biodynamic elements in their vineyards. They use only natural yeasts and old oak barrels in the cellar for aging, along with minimal amounts of sulfur during bottling. Their work philosophy is to achieve a harmonious balance between nature and the universe.
