Kékfrankos 2022
Bott Frigyes
Tasting Notes:
100% Blaufränkisch
Southern Slovak wine region, village Mužla. Grapes harvested from vineyards planted on the southern side of the Mužla hills in the geographical center of a triangle formed by the Hron and Danube rivers. The soil is of volcanic origin, clay-loamy with a high lime content, rich in minerals.
Spontaneous fermentation in the form of a hamburger (in a fermenting 1000-liter vat, 3 different forms of processed grapes were gradually inserted, for 3 to 4 weeks until the fermentation was complete), complete malolactic fermentation. The wine matured in oak barrels on fine sediment after racking. Produced by the radiation method without the use of selected yeast, substances, or other additives, filled without clarification and filtration.
Striking ruby-red color of medium intensity. The aroma carries tones of ripe red stone fruits and berries, with hints of flowers, spices, earth, and minerals. The moderately full to dense fruity taste with impressive inner strength is enhanced by velvety tannins, gentle spiciness, and pleasant well-integrated acids that maintain liveliness and freshness in the mouth. A delightful long aftertaste with plenty of fruit and subtle earthy minerality. Smooth in the mouth, refreshing, with excellent drinkability

About Winery
Bott Frigyes is known as absolute top producer in Slovakia
Frigyes specializes on clean, light and grape-typical wines that capture the essence of traditional Hungarian and Central European grape varieties bestowed by the wine region: Furmint, Hárslevelu, Juhfark, Kékfrankos and Kadarka. The wines spontaneously ferment and are aged in Hungarian oak barrels between 6 to 12 months. While some of the wines undergo careful filtration, all of them receive a light touch of sulphur during the bottling process.
